QUIZ, ART, MEGAPOSTER, SCIENCE PROJECT & WEBSITE DESIGNING CONTEST - MINDSPREE 2018
Mindspree is indeed a sojourn through technology, colours, miracles of science, intelligence and music. This Academic Festival has gained popularity in the Doon Valley over the years. Mindspree 2018 is an Inter-School Festival of Quiz, Art, Mega Poster, Science Project, Website Designing, Debate and Singing Competitions. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. Neelima Shah (IFS), Registrar FRI. The Schools that participated in this year’s Quiz, Individual Art, Mega Poster, Science Project, Website Designing Contest were as follows: 1. St. Thomas’ College 2. Summer Valley School 3. Carman School, Dalanwala 4. Shri Ram Centennial School 5. Hiltons School 6. Doon Cambridge School 7. Touch Wood School 8. St. Jude’s School The teams that sailed with ease through the preliminary round, qualifying for the stage round in the Quiz were: 1. St. Thomas’ College 2. Summer Valley School 3. Shri Ram Centennial School 4. Hiltons School 5. Doon Cambridge School 6. St. Jude’s School The Quiz Master Mr. K. Sundriyal electrified the air with his questions for both the students and the audience. St. Jude’s School was represented by Neal Gardner, Sameer Goyal and Akshat Uniyal. After several rounds of challenging questions from General Awareness, Politics, Sports and Entertainment. Summer Valley School was adjudged the Quiz Winners. St. Jude’s School were Runners up but as they hosted the event the Runners up trophy went to Hilton’s School and St. Thomas’ College stood third in the Contest. The excitement was at its zenith in the Jonty Auditorium where every Mega Poster exploded creativity. Mohd. Moin, Mr. Zakir Husain and Mr. Gyanendra Kumar judged the paintings and Mega Poster made by the participating artistes. In the Mega Poster competition St. Jude’s School won the Mega Poster Competition. However being the host the Winners trophy went to Hilton’s School and Shri Ram Centennial School came Second. The topic for the Mega Poster was to depict Tolerance. In the Individual Art Competition, topic for the Category A (IX – XI) was ‘Change’ and topic for Category B was Success. In Category ‘A’ Amaan Ali of St. Jude’s School was declared the winner. Kabeera Panchhi of Sri Ram Centennial School and Divya Khanduri of Hilton’s School were awarded the second and third prize respectively. In Category ‘B’ Bushra Khan and Srishti Panwar from Carman School were declared the first and second prize winners respectively and Kahima Khan of St. Jude’s School was given the third prize. In the Inter School Science Exhibition contest, working models like Alternating Current Generator, Automatic Street Light, Forest Fire Alarm, Voice Controlled Blue Tooth Rover greatly impressed the spectators, depicting innovations for sustainable development. The judges were Dr. Amit Bhatt, Ms. Anchal Rana and Mr. Rajeev Pathak. The Smart City model represented by Summer Valley School under the guidance of their Science Club was awarded the first prize. Second position went to the model AC Generator by St. Thomas’ College. The Business Website Designing Contest was judged by Mr. Hitesh Sharma, Mr. Vivek Kalra and Mrs. Reema Khanduja. St. Jude’s School came first but being the host school the Winners trophy went to Shri Ram Centennial School with their website Ozone BLTE (Manufacture Company - Ozone Friendly water). The Second Position was secured by Carman School, Dalanwala they projected ASAP (mobile selling site).
