The 71st Republic Day was celebrated at St. Jude’s School with all its grandeur.
Like every year it fostered a spirit of nationalism in our hearts, minds and souls. The day began with the unfurling of the National Flag followed by the National Anthem. The students saluted the Tri-colour and pledged to uphold the honour and integrity, diversity and uniqueness of India.
The choir sang beautiful songs like ‘Sandese Aate Hain’, Sare Jahan Se Achcha’, Vande Mataram’ and ‘Bharat Humko Jaan Se Pyara Hai’. Our students also enthralled the audience with beautiful dance performances portraying patriotism on songs like ‘Teri Mitti’ and ‘Namaste India’.
The School Captains Surya Pratap Singh Negi and Shaheen addressed the gathering and reminded us about our constitution makers and the sacrifices of the innumerable freedom fighters and the global challenges our youth will have to face.
The School Principal Mrs. V.R. Gardner took everyone down memory lane and shared the beautiful journey of Republic India. She said that the spirit of the nation resides in its people and we should strive to develop it in every way possible.
The students dispersed happily after getting sweets with the image of the fluttering tricolor in their hearts
Jai Hind.
