The Middle School Annual One Act Inter House Play Competition

The One Act Play Competition was a riveting tribute to Mystery and Detective Fiction.On an exciting morning our School’s Auditorium turned into a place full of Mystery, and Puzzles, inspired by the stories of Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie.It was a morning where every one got to enjoy Detective stories coming to life on Stage. The One Act Play Competition, a popular annual event, saw the four houses – Khanna, Howard, Gardner, and Lyons – engage in theatrical shows, each presenting their unique interpretation of Classic Detective Tales.
The theme for this year's Competition was chosen to honor the literary giants of Mystery and Detective fiction, challenging our students to delve deep into the complex narratives of Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie. It was a spectacle that promised not only entertainment but was also a testament to our Students' creativity, understanding of the genre, and ability to bring iconic characters to life.
The Results were as follows:
Khanna House came First and put up the play ‘Don’t eat that ’.This Play was Directed by Mrs.Anugrah Kumar and Ms.Sonia Gupta. Howard House was close Second and they put up the play ‘The Case of Missing Question Papers’, the Play was Directed by Mrs.Suman Thakur and Mrs.Kajol Dhingra. Gardner House came Third and put up the play ‘TinTin .’The Play was Directed by Mrs.Anshu Bhatia and Mrs.Rachna Diwivedi. Lyons House came Fourth and put up the Play ‘Lamb to the Slaughter’ which was Directed by Mrs.Vishakha Lal and Mr.Amitosh Singh.
Adding to the accolades of the morning special recognition was given to the outstanding performances in the Individual Categories. In the Boy’s Category, Mhd. Dawid of Class 8th -B and Siddhant Satsangi of Class 7th -C were awarded the Best Actors award. In the Girl’s Category, Jiya Rana of Class 8th -D, Riddhi Lunthi of Class 7th -D and Amishi Jain of Class6th -E were awarded the Best Actress award.
As the results were declared by our esteemed Principal, the audience applauded with joy, not just for the victorious Khanna House but for all the participants who had contributed to a memorable morning. This event was a celebration of literature and performing art. It highlighted our students' talents, dedication, and the vibrant cultural life of our School.
In conclusion, the One Act Play Competition was more than just a Contest, it was a tribute to the genius of Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie, brought to life by the passion and creativity of our students and teachers. As we applaud their efforts and achievements, we are reminded of the power of literature to inspire, challenge, and entertain.
