Aditya Johari Triumphs at UP and UK Regional Speed Roller Skating Championship

Gorakhpur, September 21, 2024 — In an impressive display of skill and determination, Aditya Johari, a Class 11 student from St. Jude’s School, has emerged victorious at the UP and UK Regional Speed Roller Skating Championship held in Gorakhpur. Representing Uttarakhand and his school, Aditya competed in the Under-17 Boys Inline Skate Category and brought home two gold medals, further solidifying his reputation as a rising star in the world of roller skating.
The championship was fiercely competitive, with athletes from various zones, including Kanpur (South Zone), Varanasi, and Lucknow Zones A and B, vying for top positions. Aditya’s performance stood out as he participated in two of the four available races: the 500m rink race and the 1-lap road race. Known for his prowess as a short sprinter, Aditya excelled in these events.
In the 500m rink race, Aditya showcased his speed and agility, overcoming strong competition from Kanpur (South Zone), Lucknow (Zone B), Meerut, and Varanasi. His exceptional performance in this race earned him the gold medal. Aditya’s success continued in the 1-lap road race, where he outpaced rivals from Kanpur (both zones), Lucknow (both zones), Meerut, and Varanasi to claim another gold medal.
These stellar performances earned Aditya full points (10/10) and a top spot in the standings, qualifying him for the National Speed Roller Skating Championship, scheduled to take place in Mumbai, near Thane, from September 29 to October 3, 2024. This championship will also serve as a qualifying round for the SGFI Championship.
As Aditya prepares for the national stage, he is determined to continue his winning streak and aims to bring home a medal from the nationals. The entire St. Jude’s School community is immensely proud of his achievements and wishes him the very best for the upcoming competition.
