"Folk Vibes" – A Celebration of Global Folk Traditions at Kasiga International School

On the 29th of April, 2025, Kasiga International School, Dehradun, hosted a vibrant Inter-School Folk Dance event titled "Folk Vibes", bringing together the rhythm, culture, and colors of various countries under one roof. The event saw participation from 16 Schools, each group presenting unique folk traditions through dance, music, and cultural expression. Each School was given a distinctive Team name and represented a specific region or culture. The event focused on showcasing the diverse lifestyles and Folk traditions of India, Nepal, and China, celebrating the beauty of global heritage through performance. Taking the spotlight were the "Echo Tribes", a group of Students from St. Jude’s School, Dehradun, who won First place for their energetic and well-coordinated presentation of Dindi Folk dance of Maharashtra . Their captivating performance stood out for its cultural depth, vibrant costumes, and synchronized choreography. Throughout the day, the staDe came alive with colorful performances—from the robust and lively Haryanvi Dance, echoing the rustic charm of Northern India, to graceful Nepali Dances and elegant Chinese Folk routines. Each group brought to life the customs and stories of their chosen region, turning the event into a moving cultural experience. The event aimed not only to foster artistic talent but also to promote cultural understanding and appreciation among Students. The collaborative spirit, enthusiastic participation, and celebration of diversity made "Folk Vibes" a memorable success. Judges for the evening were Mrs. Vidhisha Aggarwal ,Mrs. Upma Shukla and Mrs. Damini.Our Dance was choreographed by Mrs. Shama Kukreja The program concluded with a combined performance by all 16 Teams, symbolizing unity in diversity and marking a fitting end to a day dedicated to cultural exchange and youthful creativity.
