Earth Day aims to raise awareness of the challenges and to promote actions that individuals can take to help protect the environment. Since 1970 it has become a global event with millions of people participating in various activities and events.
This year the theme for World Earth Day 2024 was Planet vs Plastics. The theme's aim is to bring attention to the serious issue of plastic pollution and how it harms nature.
The students of St. Jude's School of Grades 3-5 shared their reflections on what Earth Day means to them. A range of events were organized to sensitize the children about the importance of natural resources. Our little buddies expressed their ideas by making drawings of Save Water,Make Every Drop of Water Count, No Water No Life,Conserve Water Conserve Life. Posters and banners were also made of Make Earth Happy Again and Walk More. The Students raised slogans and voiced their thoughts with great zeal and enthusiasm. The activity was designed to motivate the young generation. They were encouraged to speak about ecosystem degradation and present real time solutions faced by the Globe.
Being Earth Saviours, saving the resources is the only way we can save our Ecosystem.
With a sense of commitment and sincerity, students took a pledge to preserve and conserve the Earth.
Avoid using Plastics, go on nature walks, learn the three R's of Nature, Reduce, Reuse, Re-cycle. A strong message for a more sustainable future was sent out.
