BASANT PANCHAMI CELEBRATION CLASSES 3-5 FRIDAY ACTIVITY
Basant Panchami, a vibrant and auspicious festival, celebrated across India, marks the beginning of Spring. It signifies the end of winter and the onset of warmer and brighter days. Beyond the seasonal transition, the festival holds deep religious importance. It is particularly dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the deity of knowledge, wisdom and music. Devotees perform Saraswati Puja on this day. People traditionally wear yellow Clothing (symbolizing the mustard flower which blooms during this season). Yellow foods like sweets and rice are served during festivities. Kite-flying is a popular activity on Basant Panchami Basant Panchami was celebrated on 31 st January 2025 as Friday Activity for students of Classes III to V with great zeal and enthusiasm. The excitement was palpable as students and teachers came together to celebrate this joyous occasion Kite-Flying A symbol of freedom The sky was a Kaleidoscope of colours as students of Class V flew kites of various colours, shapes and sizes. The kite-flying was a huge hit, with participants showcasing their skills and creativity. Traditional Delights- A Treat for the taste buds All sections of Class IV were filled with the aroma of traditional Basant Panchami delicacies. Students relished the sweet and savory dishes including Sarson-ka-saag and makki ki roti, kesar peda, gajar ka halwa, til barfi and sweet saffron rice (a flavourful and aromatic dessert). Vibrant Attire- A Reflection of Cultural Heritage The Junior School was a riot of colours as students of Class III dressed up in traditional attire. The little boys and girls looked stunning in their yellow and orange dresses. Basant Panchami is not just a festival of colours and joy, it is also a celebration of knowledge and culture. Our Junior School's Celebration was a testament to the rich cultural heritage of our country and we are proud to have been a part of it. Everyone went home with big smiles and unforgettable memories.
