Our Pre School and Nursery Children Celebrate Janmashthami on Campus
Posted on: 23 August 2024
Krishna Janmashtami is a festival that joyously celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna. The festival is marked by vibrant celebrations, devotional singing, and reenactments of Lord Krishna's childhood exploits. The birth of Lord Krishna was celebrated with lots of excitement and joy! At St. Jude's School, children of Pre-Nursery and Nursery celebrated on 23rd of August 2024 with great fervor and enthusiasm.
Throughout the day, teachers narrated stories about Lord Krishna's life, teachings, and miracles. Classrooms and school corridors were adorned with colorful posters. Students showcased their creativity by making their own decorations, including paper flowers, flutes, and intricate rangoli designs. The highlight of the festival was a series of performances where students presented songs and dances that vividly depicted the life and teachings of Lord Krishna.
One of the most exciting moments of the celebration was the traditional "Matki Phod" activity, which involved breaking an earthen pot. Students dressed as Lord Krishna and his companions, the Gopis, eagerly attempted to break a matki (pot) hung high above the ground. This activity was a true test of teamwork and agility.
The swing in our Preschool was decorated with flowers, and a child dressed as Bal Krishna was seated on it. Janmashtami not only celebrates the triumph of good over evil but also reflects the divine love that Krishna embodies for his devotees. The festival provided students with an opportunity to learn valuable lessons from Lord Krishna's life, particularly his message of love, compassion, and service to others. The teachings of Lord Krishna continue to inspire and guide millions around the world.
