An Inter-School Folk Vibes Competition was organised at the Kasiga School on the 29th of April, 2024. A total of fourteen (14) schools participated in the event. They included Welham Girl’s School,Mussorie International School, Tons Bridge School, Ann Mary to name a few.
A troupe of 15 dancers from St.Jude’s School set the stage on fire with their highly energetic performance ‘ Parai Attam Maha Kali Avahan’, famously known as Thappattam Kummi’.
It is one of the oldest forms of folk dance, performed by the people of Tamil to thank goddess ‘KALI’ for their good growth of crops.
The Chief Guest, Mrs. Priya Sharma praised the performance of our young Thaddeusians.
The audience was awestruck by the enthusiastic performance of our young dancers. The Judges Mrs.Vidisha who was a Kathak classical dancer, and Mrs. Anupama Bhadni Kothiyal a Kathak classical dancer also complimented the mesmerizing performance of St.Judes School.
The winners of the ‘Folk Vibes 2024 were Doon International River Site and St.Judes School came fourth position in this Competition.
This lovely dance was choreographed by Mrs.Sharma Kukreja. The Principal, St. Jude’s School Ms. M. Gardner complimented the dancers and Mrs.Sharma Kukreja on the Spectacular performance. It takes effort , hard work and determination to win an event. Well Done!
