76TH REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATED AT ST. JUDE'S SCHOOL
As January 26th dawned, St. Jude's School was imbued with an air of patriotism and pride, marking the 76th Republic Day with grandeur. This momentous occasion celebrates the spirit of democracy and unity. It is more than a date - it reflects the Nation's identity and heritage. The Celebrations commenced with the hoisting of the Tricolor by the Principal, Ms. M. Gardner. The vibrant saffron, white, and green of the National Flag fluttered proudly against the bright sky as the National Anthem resonated through the Jonty Multipurpose Auditorium, evoking unity and patriotism among students and staff. The event unfolded with a series of cultural performances that celebrated India's diversity and unity. Students delivered heartfelt renditions of patriotic songs like "Ae watan,mere watan",” O desh mere”, “Ay watan” and “Fir bhi dil hai Hindustani," followed by beautiful dance performances on “ Shubh din aayo” and “Aisa desh hai mera." Each performance reflected the rich cultural tapestry of the nation and the enthusiasm of the young participants. The essence of Republic Day was highlighted through inspiring speeches by the Head Boy Anshuman Sharma and Head Girl Ananya Bisht. They emphasized the importance of the Constitution and the values it enshrines, reminding everyone that the day represents a collective commitment to Justice, Liberty, Equality and Fraternity. In her address, the Principal Ms. M. Gardner reflected on the foundation upon which democracy stands strong. Our Constitution enshrines the principles of Equality, Justice, Fraternity and Secularism. It promotes the idea that our diversity is our strength, and we must embrace and respect the beliefs and practices of others. She urged the students to embrace and respect diverse cultures while staying rooted in their traditions. “Let us embrace our rights and responsibilities, ensuring that we contribute positively to our society’’. Each one of us has a role to play in building a nation that reflects the values enshrined in our Constitution - a Nation that is just, inclusive, and progressive. As the Celebrations concluded, the participants left with a renewed sense of responsibility to uphold the Nation's democratic values, carrying the spirit of Republic Day in their hearts. St. Jude's School once again demonstrated its dedication to fostering patriotism, cultural pride, and a sense of community amongst its Students and Staff.
