The Annual Late Mr. I.L.G. Mann Inter House Singing Contest 2018, St. Jude’s School

The Annual Late Mr. I.L.G. Mann Singing Contest is organised every year in the memory of the late Mr. I.L.G. Mann. Mr. Mann believed that one’s life should be lived as if it were a melody with arpeggios, staccatos & crescendos.
Our young Thaddeusians once again raised the bar high by putting up outstanding performances this year.
The rhythm and the beats of the Western Solo, Hindi Duet and Western Group Singing Category, singing competitions resonated around the campus and the response of the audience was overwhelming.
Each House performed popular numbers from 1980-1990. The occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of our Vice Principal Ms. Michelle Gardner. The contest was judged by Mr. S. Imbert, Mrs. D. Imbert of St. Thomas’ College and Mr. Pawson of Hilton’s School.
The songs presented in the Western Solo Competition included Can’t slow down – Lionel Richies. Take my Breath – Berlin, Away, La-Isla Bonita – Madonna and Papa Don’t Preach – Madonna. Jabez Gurung of Lyons House was declared the winner.
In the Duet Singing Category melodious songs like – ‘Aap Jaisa Koi…’, ‘Yaar Bina Chain Kahan Re…’, ‘Jane Jigar Jane Man…’ and Aye Mere Humsafar…’ to which the audience swayed with delight and applauded in appreciation. Tejaswani and Kushagra from Howard House were judged the winners.
In the Group Singing Category, the group sang a few hits of 90’s, Wake me up…, Man in the mirror, Brother Louis, La-Isla Bonita. Gardner House was declared the winner.
The prizes were awarded by our School’s Vice Principal. She appreciated the music talent of the students and encouraged them.
