RENDENVOUZ  THE INTER HOUSE SENIOR ENGLISH DEBATE COMPETITION,2024
On the 2nd May 2024, Jonty Auditorium was abuzz with anticipation as Students from different Houses gathered for the much-awaited Inter House English Extempore Debate. With just an hour of preparation time, the Competitors were tasked with delving into a thought-provoking topic, ready to present their arguments with conviction and eloquence The panel of Judges, comprised distinguished faculty members and experts in the field. They brought a wealth of experience to the event. Their role was not only to evaluate the performances but also to provide constructive feedback to help students refine their debating skills further. The topic for the Debate was, this House believes that free will is a myth. The topic was carefully selected to stimulate discussion and encourage students to explore diverse perspectives. Whether it was dissecting contemporary issues or delving into timeless philosophical questions, the debaters had the opportunity to showcase their analytical prowess and rhetorical flair. Despite the competitive atmosphere, the spirit of camaraderie and mutual respect prevailed throughout the event. As the participants took to the stage in turn they were met with applause and encouragement from their peers, highlighting the supportive community fostered within the school. After a rigorous round of debate and rebutle, the moment arrived to announce the results.Aditi Sehgal ,the Best Speaker was commended for her efforts and insightful contribution. The First Runners-Up Arjit Solanki and the Second Runners-Up Ananya Bisht were also recognized for their exceptional performances, reflecting the high calibre of talent among the Students. In her address, Ms.M.Gardner, Principal, St.Jude’s School, commended the participants for their dedication and commitment to intellectual inquiry. She reiterated the aim of conducting such debates, not merely as a competition but as a platform for personal growth and development. The overall impact of the Inter House Senior Extempore Debate Competition extended far beyond the confines of the event itself. It served as a testament to the school's commitment to fostering a culture of critical thinking and respectful discourse among its Students.
