On the Second day, the 9th of August, an Inter School Senior English Extempore Debate, a Master Chef Contest, An Art of Story Telling and an Art Competition was held today. Ten Schools in and around Dehradun participated in this event.
The Chief Guest for the day was Brother Dennis Joseph, Principal, St. Patrick’s Academy. Hailing from Kerala, Bro. Dennis is a member of the Congregation Patrician Brothers. Brother has taught in many Patrician Brothers’ Schools located in different parts of India for more than 25 years.
At the Inter School Senior English Extempore Debate Contest, participants demonstrated remarkable poise and delivered compelling arguments. The topic for the debate was, ‘ This House believes that the notion of Planet Earth being beyond salvation is a realistic assessment.’
The Schools that participated in the Event were St. Thomas’ College, Ann Mary School, St. Patrick's Academy, and St. Jude's School.
The Debate Contest was judged by Mrs. V. Kaalia, Mr. Harry Sethi and Mr.Krish Jadhav.
The overall Winners were the Team from St. Joseph’s Academy. The First Runners-Up were St. Thomas’ College.
The Award for the Best Speaker was claimed by Anahitra Goswami from St. Joseph’s Academy. The First Runner Up was Tanisha Chhabra from St. Thomas’ College. The Second Runners-Up was Aanya Raturi of St.Patrick’s Academy.
An Inter School Art Contest was also organized where the participating teams were to transform waste into eco-art. In the Individual category, the participants were to showcase moments of happiness either through personal experience, celebrations or scenes that evoke a sense of delight on paper. Each canvas showed the unique perspective of the creator, resulting in a stunning array of artworks.
In Category A- (Class 11& 12), 3D Canvas category, Jara Khatoon and Kashish Jain from St.Jude’s School were declared the Winners, but being the host School they gave away the trophy to Gayatree and Shambhavi from Ann Mary School. Shivanshi Bidola and Ashmita Naithani from The Presidency International School were the First Runners Up.
In Category B- (Class 9 & 10), the Winner in the Individual Category was Ishita Bansal from Ann Mary School. The First Runners-Up was Saanvi Bisht from Ann Mary School. Avani Rawat from St.Jude’s School was declared the Second Runners Up. Subhansh Rana from St.Joseph’s Academy was awarded a Consolation Prize.
The Judges were Mrs. Deepshikha from Kala Kendra, Ms.Akanksha Sonekar from Kala Kendra and Mr. Alok Bhowmik from Kasiga School.
The Art of Story-Telling Contest, an ancient form that has transcended time and culture and has captivated audiences for centuries, was brought alive. Each storyteller explored different dimensions of narrative expression creating an immersive experience for the audience, allowing people to see the world from different perspectives. The Art of Story Telling Contest was adjudged by Dr. Kanchan, Mrs. Seema Issar, and Ms. Neelam Sethi.
Jahanvi Gairola from Doon Presidency School was adjudged the Winner, the First Runners Up was Aditi Raghuvanshi from The Presidency International School. Shubhangi Saklani from St.Thomas’ College was declared the Second Runners Up.
The Master Chef Global Fusion Cuisine was about the coming together of eccentric combinations in a start-up, main course and a dessert. The Contest was judged by Chef Jitendra, Melting Moments and Mr. Manish Paul, Kukreja Institute.
The Winner was Tanishka Bhatt of St.Patrick’s Academy. Samriddhi Chhetri of St.Jude’s School came Second but being the host School we gave the trophy to Paridhi Pandey of Summer Valley School.
The day concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Ms. M. Gardner, Principal, St.Jude’s School.
