INTER-CLASS DEBATE COMPETITION! A Showcase of Young Talent and Critical Thinking
The Inter-Class Debate Competition for Students of Classes 6, 7, and 8 was held at St. Jude's School. The Competition aimed to enhance the oratory skills, critical thinking, and confidence of Students from different sections. It featured enthusiastic participation from Students across all three grades, who debated on a variety of thought-provoking topics. The event not only provided a platform for Students to showcase their debating skills but also fostered healthy competition and intellectual engagement. Day1: Class 6 Debate Competition. The much anticipated Inter-Class Debate Competition commenced on 24th July 2024 featuring Students from class 6. There were ten participants from five sections, who passionately argued their points on the topic ‘The use of cell phones is dangerous, so it should be limited’! Each of the ten participants displayed remarkable oratory skills and confidence. After intense deliberation, the Judges awarded the top three positions to the following students. First position: Aarna Saxena (6B), Second position Gaurangi Purohit (6B) and Third position Ishveen Kaur (6C). Day 2: Class 7 Debate Competition The Competition continued with the Class 7 students taking the stage on 25th July 2024. Similar to the previous day, ten participants from five sections engaged in fierce debates on the topic- ‘HAPPINESS IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN SUCCESS.’ The participants impressed both their peers and the Judges with their insightful arguments and eloquent delivery. The winners of Class 7 were: First position: HARSHITA NAUDIYAL -(7B), Second position: RAUNAK BISHT -(7C) followed by Third position: KESHAV DIDHAN (7C) Day 3: Class 8 Debate Competition. On the 29th of July, 2024, the final day of the Competition saw Class 8 Students showcasing their debating prowess on the topic. With ten speakers from five sections, the competition was intense and the performances were exceptional. The top 3 speakers from Class 8 were: First position: Dev Kumar Kamboj of Class 8E, Second position: a tie between Sidhant Satsangi of Class 8 D and Ojaswini Ghildiyal of Class 8 D. Third position was bagged by Eeshita Naini. The Inter-Class Debate competition was a resounding success, highlighting the student’s critical thinking, public speaking, and persuasive skills. Congratulations to all the participants for their hard work and to the winners for their outstanding performances. We look forward to more such events that continue to foster intellectual growth and healthy Competition among our students.
