Earth Day is an annual global event celebrated on April 22nd to promote environmental protection and sustainability. The first Earth Day was observed in 1970 and since then it has become a significant day for people worldwide to come together and raise awareness about environmental issues. The theme for Earth Day 2025 is ‘Our Power Our Planet’ focusing on renewable energy and climate action.
Children of classes 3 to 5 at St. Jude’s School celebrated Earth Day on 22nd April with great enthusiasm and dedication. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of environmental conservation and promote sustainable practices among Students. Students actively participated in activities like Recycled Paper Art, Poster Making and taking a pledge, showcasing their creativity. The activities not only educated Students about environmental issues but also inspired them to take action.
Class 3 Students showcased their creativity through recycled paper art. They made paper bags and flowers using old newspapers. Some Students represented green earth using disposable paper plates. They also made headgears showing green Earth. Some children made trees using old cardboard and waste paper. One group even created colourful butterflies using old newspaper pages, glue, scissors and colours.
Class 4 Students took the Earth Day pledge, promising to do their part in protecting the environment.
Class 5 students created thought-provoking posters that conveyed powerful messages about environmental conservation. These visual reminders will serve as a constant motivation for students to adopt eco-friendly habits and make a positive impact on their surroundings.
The Earth Day event fostered a sense of responsibility among students. By engaging in these activities, students gained a deeper understanding of the importance of environmental stewardship and the role they can play in creating a more sustainable world.
