St. Jude’s School Wins the Spectrum Singing Contest 2023

The Spectrum Inter-School Singing Competition 2023 was held on the 9th of November at St. Thomas’ College. The Competition was divided into three Categories. Solo Singing, Duet Singing, and Group Singing.
The Honorable Chief Guest of the function was Mrs. H. K. Chabbra, the Principal, of Doon Cambridge School. The Schools participating in the Competition were St. Thomas’ College, St. Jude’s School, Doon Cambridge School, and Cambrian Hall.
The songs to be performed in the Competition spanned from 1990 to 2000. For the Solo and Group Categories, the songs had to be performed in English, and for the Duet Category, in Hindi.
In the Solo Category and Duet Category, singing was also accompanied by dancing. Some of the songs that were sung were, from this moment, my heart will go on, I want It that way, zombie, winds of change, and one love just to name a few. The songs performed in the duet category were vaada raha sanam, koi mil gaya, sandese aatein hai, and yeh hnseen vadiyan.
In the Solo Singing Category, Komal Semwal from Cambrian Hall was adjudged the winner. In the Duet Singing Category, Shourya Aswal and Vartika Khattri from St. Jude’s School were awarded the first prize. In the Group Singing Category, St. Jude’s School was declared the winner. The Overall Trophy went to St. Jude’s school.
The Choir of St. Jude’s School was trained by Mr. Vijay Shahi and Mr. Deepak Chetri, and the dancers were trained by Mrs. Shama Kukreja and Mr. Wilson Lakra.
