75th Republic Day is Celebrated By Senior Students Of St. Jude’s School As the Calendar turns to January 26th the air in our School is infused with a sense of patriotism and pride. Republic Day a momentous occasion in the history of our nation, is not merely a day marked on the calendar, it is an embodiment of our collective identity, residence, and democratic spirit. The day began with the hoisting of the tricolor flags Ms. M. Gardner, Principal, St. Jude’s School. Its saffron, white, and green hues dancing in unison against the azure sky. The rhythmic beats of the National Anthem resonated through the air, instilling a profound sense of unity among the Students and staff gathered in the Jonty Multipurpose Auditorium. Following the Flag hoisting, the stage came alive with a plethora of cultural performances. From soul-stirring patriotic songs like “Maa Tujhe Salaam” and “Oh Desh Mere” to vibrant dance routines on a mashup of “Chak de and Kehte hain humko pyar se India wale” and “Jigra hai and Challa” Students enthusiastically showcased their talents. Each performance portrayed the cultural unity that makes India truly unique. Educational aspects are not forgotten in our Republic Day celebrations. Thought-provoking speeches by the Head Boy and Head Girl on the significance of the day, the significance of our Constitution and the values enshrined therein, contributed to a deeper understanding of our democratic heritage. They said that our Republic Day a collective acknowledgment of our commitment to democracy, justice and unity in diversity. Ms. M. Gardner, Principal, St. Jude’s School in her address reminded all that our nation is at the forefront of innovation, research and technological advancement making its presence felt globally. She said, “Children, as our country takes strides and soldiers on, let us not forget the ideals of our leaders both past and present. Go out of your way to understand and respect cultures different from yours while being rooted in your traditions and culture.” As we dispersed, carrying the spirit of Republic Day in our hearts, we were reminded that the strength of our Nation lies in the hands of its citizens, and the responsibility to uphold its democratic values rests on our shoulders.
