St Jude's School wins the Art for the Constitution: Poster Making Competition at Rashtrapati Niketan Under the gentle morning sun, surrounded by the proud white walls of Rashtrapati Niketan, young minds stepped into a place where history breathes, where our Constitution is not just a book but a living heartbeat of India. On Wednesday, the 26th November 2025, as the nation celebrated Constitution Day, Students from prestigious Schools arrived at this serene Presidential Residence in Dehradun, carrying colours, canvases, ideas and an unspoken respect for the legacy of our Republic. The Event, themed My Constitution, My Pride, was not merely a Competition; it was an artistic dialogue between India’s future and the ideals that guide its people. The programme began with a warm welcome, followed by an enriching talk on the making of the Indian Constitution. Teachers and Students listened attentively as they learned how extraordinary minds like Prem Behari Narain Raizada, the master calligrapher, and the iconic illustrator Nandalal Bose gave the Constitution its artistic soul. It was here that they understood that our Constitution was not drafted just in ink and law, it was shaped in aesthetics, symbolism and cultural identity. The scholar guides of Rashtrapati Niketan explained how every stroke of handwriting and every illustrated page was chosen to reflect the dignity of a nation rising from struggle, sacrifice and hope. The Students were reminded that the Constitution is not a document of rules alone; it is a mirror of who we are and who we aspire to be. In this deeply meaningful setting, Group III (Classes 11 and 12) presented their artworks. The first position was secured by Avani Rawat of St. Jude’s School, whose painting captured the spirit of our nation with grace and maturity. The second position went to Tanishq Gupta of D.A.V. Public School, while the third was earned by Gaurav Singh from PM Shri K.V IMA, Dehradun, his canvas marked by both skill and insight. Three young artists—Roshni Rawat and Ridhima Sharma of D.A.V. Public School and Ayaana Jaiwal of Touch Wood School, received consolation prizes, proving that creativity is not limited to podium finishes but lives in every Student who dares to express. What made this Event unforgettable was the rare opportunity to explore Rashtrapati Niketan itself. The staff guided Students through its dignified interiors: the Conference Hall where discussions of national significance may have echoed, the peaceful residential areas where the President rests, and the dining arena built not for show, but for simplicity and purpose. The Teachers explained that Rashtrapati Niketan was established as a calm retreat for the President of India, a sanctuary where leadership is nurtured in serenity, away from public glare. Every room, every courtyard, every corridor reflects discipline, restraint and a quiet respect for responsibility. As the Event drew to a close, the Students walked back through the manicured gardens of Rashtrapati Niketan carrying certificates, artwork and something far greater, an awakened pride. They had not simply visited a Government estate; they had stepped into a living symbol of India’s democracy. Their art had blossomed in the presence of history and their young hearts carried home the lesson that the Constitution is not just a legal document, it is a promise, a vision and a responsibility entrusted to each one of them.
