Hopping into Joy: Easter Celebrations at St Jude’s School!
The spirit of joy, hope and kindness filled the corridors of St Jude’s School as the students of Classes Pre Nursery, Nursery to Class 5 came together to celebrate Easter on the 6th of April. Easter is an important festival that celebrates the message of hope, renewal and new beginnings. The day reminds us of the triumph of goodness, love and faith. It is also a time that beautifully coincides with the freshness of spring, reminding everyone of renewal and positivity. The Easter celebration for Nursery and Pre-Nursery Student was planned as a joyful and engaging learning experience based on the Theme of Easter. The day began with a warm welcome and circle time, where Students were greeted with a cheerful song and introduced to the theme using a soft toy, encouraging them to respond to simple questions and build their speaking confidence. This was followed by a short and expressive story highlighting the values of happiness, kindness and sharing, helping to develop listening skills and moral understanding. Students then participated in a creative Art and Craft Activity where they coloured and decorated egg cut-outs using crayons and simple techniques, enhancing their creativity and colour recognition, along with a simple worksheet activity to reinforce learning through colouring and identification. A fun action game where Students hopped like bunnies added excitement while supporting their gross motor development. They also enjoyed learning simple Easter rhymes with actions, improving their rhythm and memory skills. During the snack break, emphasis was placed on sharing and social interaction. The Session concluded with a Role-Play Activity where Students engaged in imaginative play, which helped build their confidence and expressive abilities. Overall, the Activities promoted holistic development through play-based, experiential learning in line with early Childhood Education principles. Easter was also celebrated with a range of engaging and meaningful activities for Students of Classes KG to 2. The Students of Class KG thoroughly enjoyed the Easter Freeze Dance, filling the Classroom with laughter as they danced joyfully and froze to the music. They also showcased their creativity in the Design Your Easter Egg Activity, beautifully drawing and colouring vibrant Easter Eggs. Class 1 Students enthusiastically participated in the Bunny Mission Cards Activity, where they picked a paper egg and carried out the instructions written inside, making the experience both exciting and interactive. Class 2 Students worked together to design their Mini Easter Garden through drawing and colouring. This collaborative Activity encouraged imagination, teamwork, and artistic expression. Through these joyful experiences, Students not only had a wonderful time but also learnt about the values of Easter such as hope, kindness, sharing and new beginnings. To make the celebration meaningful and enjoyable, the Students of Classes 3 to 5 participated in a variety of creative and thoughtful Activities. The Classrooms blossomed with colour as Students created a Spring Flower Basket Board. Using bright paper flowers and baskets, Students decorated the board to represent the beauty of spring and the joy that Easter brings. Adding to the festive spirit, Students enthusiastically crafted Easter Bunnies. One of the most heartwarming Activity was the Surprise Kindness Basket. Students wrote small notes of kindness and appreciation for their Classmates and placed them in a basket. This Activity encouraged the Students to spread happiness and practise the true spirit of Easter—love and kindness towards others. The Celebration also included delightful mini skits titled The Kind Bunny. Through these short performances, Students portrayed the importance of helping others, sharing and being kind. The skits were enjoyed by everyone and beautifully conveyed the message that small acts of kindness can make a big difference. The Easter celebration at St Jude’s School was a wonderful blend of creativity, learning, and joy. The Activities not only made the day memorable but also helped the Students understand the deeper values of Easter—hope, kindness and new beginnings.
