A Musical Journey into Storytelling at the Doon Book Festival

Our School had the wonderful opportunity to participate in an enriching and engaging Musical Storytelling Session held at the Parade Ground as part of the Doon Book Festival on Friday, the 10th of April, 2026. A group of 30 enthusiastic Students from Class 5, accompanied by our Teacher, Mrs. S. Prabhakar, attended this unique learning experience. The Session was conducted by Ms. Swati Goyal, who beautifully blended Storytelling with music, creating a magical atmosphere that instantly captured the attention of the young audience. Through the use of various Musical Instruments and expressive Narration, she brought Stories to life in a manner that was both entertaining and deeply engaging. The Students were thoroughly delighted as they not only listened to the Stories but also actively participated in the Session. Ms. Goyal skillfully interacted with the Students, encouraging them to respond, imagine and connect with the narrative. Her ability to engage Children through rhythm, sound and expression made the Session truly memorable. The presence of Students and Teachers from several other Schools added to the vibrancy of the event, making it a large and lively gathering of young learners. The Session, which lasted approximately 45 minutes, was filled with joy, curiosity, and meaningful learning. Towards the end, Ms. Goyal interacted personally with the Students, making them feel valued and involved. The Students also received gift boxes, which further added to their excitement and delight. Additionally, the Students were awarded Certificates for their Participation. Overall, the visit to the Doon Book Festival proved to be a highly rewarding experience. It provided Students with exposure to a creative form of Storytelling and helped foster their imagination, listening skills and love for literature. Such opportunities play a vital role in holistic learning, leaving Students with joyful memories and renewed inspiration.
